Bringing up BeBe

When Pamela Druckerman, an American journalist - former staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal was iving in Paris, she had her first child. Quickly Pamala realized that certain parenting truths she believed to be universal― sleepless nights, hectic meals, interrupted conversations―didn’t apply to many of her French counterparts. Though French parenting isn’t a known thing like French fashion or cheese, Druckerman noticed that French children seem to have an invisible civilizing force around them while French parents appear relaxed and sure of themselves. In her insightful and charming memoir BRINGING UP BÉBÉ: One American Mother Discovers the Wisdom of French Parenting Druckerman, fueled by journalistic curiosity and a touch of maternal desperation, investigates the differences between French and American parenting styles.
